Born in Barcelona in 1951, he belongs to the fourth generation of the family that in 1916 founded Myrurgia, Barcelona's historic perfume house. He studied architecture, then chose the family trade and trained with the masters of the time: Artur Jordi Pey in Geneva, Marcel Carles in Grasse, Pierre Bourdon in Paris. In 1979 he signed his first perfume for Myrurgia, Alada. Decades of creations followed, for the family house and for great names of Spanish fashion.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn 2000 Myrurgia passed to the Puig group. Monegal stayed until 2007, then chose freedom: in 2009 he presented the first collection under his own name. The house is based in Barcelona, where its boutique also stands, in Carrer Calvet. Working alongside him are his children Oscar, Laura and Hector, the fifth generation: that is why the house tells its story as one that since 1916 has embraced five generations and calls itself a guardian of the perfumer's art.
